Quebec’s dining scene is thriving, yet its operational challenges have never been more demanding. It was against this dynamic backdrop that Lightspeed hosted its Champ libreevent. Bringing together some 70 key industry players, the evening offered a dedicated space to explore major sector trends and what customers truly expect today.
Three Global Trends, and Putting People First
The tone was set from the opening remarks by Nicole Buisson (Chief Revenue Officer, International) and Charlotte Trudeau (Senior Account Manager). Lightspeed highlighted three essential priorities shared by restaurateurs across the globe:
- Saving time on day-to-day management
- Protecting profit margins
- Optimizing the customer experience

Adoniram Sides, Senior VP, Hospitality at Lightspeed, then reinforced these points with survey data on Quebecers’ dining habits. Service quality stood out: 82% of customers say staff attentiveness is the single most decisive factor, and one in two Montrealers say they won’t return if the service falls short.

In light of this, technology, whether through reliable hardware or simple, intuitive tools, must serve as a lever for better understanding operations, without ever replacing the human touch.
Networking and Hands-On Experience
The evening wrapped up in a warm, lively atmosphere with a refined cocktail reception catered by Chaud Devant, paired with wine and a signature Lightspeed-themed Paloma.

Beyond the festivities, hands-on learning took center stage at an interactive demo station. Restaurateurs and industry professionals were able to test Lightspeed’s solutions firsthand, try out the hardware and explore new features designed for the realities of their day-to-day operations. It was also an ideal opportunity to speak directly with Lightspeed account managers, ask strategic questions, and receive personalized advice on running their businesses more efficiently.

In a final thoughtful touch, guests left with a one-of-a-kind keepsake: a custom apron embroidered live on-site by Left-Handed Embroidery. With 70 engaged attendees and the unifying energy of the Lightspeed team, the event showed that Quebec’s restaurant community is more vibrant and driven to innovate than ever.
