Fequently asked questions

Your questions about Lightspeed and GGGolf, answered.

What's happening?

GGGolf has entered into a partnership with Lightspeed Golf to transition our customers to the Lightspeed Golf platform. This is a new chapter for GGGolf, built on a shared vision with a fellow Quebec-founded company.

Why is this happening?

Over the past several years, the rapid evolution of technology and changing expectations among golf clubs have led us at GGGolf to conclude that a significant transformation of the platform was becoming necessary.

The next generation of GGGolf would have needed to include a fully cloud-based architecture, a modernized user experience, new features and the ability to evolve in order to meet the future needs of golf clubs.

We explored various options to achieve this transformation but, after careful consideration, we concluded that Lightspeed offered the best combination of technology, resources, and shared Quebec roots to take GGGolf's platform, and Quebec golf, to the next level.

This decision was therefore not taken lightly. Above all, it is intended to ensure the long-term sustainability of your technology environment and give golf clubs access to significantly greater resources and innovation capabilities.

Why Lightspeed?

Lightspeed is a global technology company that already offers a solution purpose-built for the golf industry. This partnership brings together GGGolf's deep understanding of Quebec golf clubs and their operations, built over many years, with Lightspeed's technology, expertise, and capacity for innovation. Also founded in Quebec, Lightspeed has a long history serving the region across golf, retail, and hospitality, giving your club a strong foundation to keep evolving in the years ahead.

Will I still get local, French-language support?

Yes. Staying local was a priority in this partnership. Your support team remains Quebec-based, and service will continue to be led in French. Lightspeed is also hiring additional French-speaking implementation specialists, product adoption specialists, and account managers to support you.

What new features or benefits will I get?

Lightspeed Golf brings a complete, single-provider solution, including unified POS and payments across your golf operation, pro shop, and restaurant, along with ongoing product innovation and new features on the horizon. In the coming weeks, we'll be hosting events with Lightspeed to walk you through everything the platform has to offer.

When will this happen?

The transition to Lightspeed Golf will not happen overnight. The transition schedule has been established with one clear objective: to minimize, as much as possible, any disruption to your operations during the golf season. This is why upgrades will be carried out progressively between fall 2026 and March 2027. You will soon receive communications outlining the next steps, timelines and the individuals responsible for supporting you throughout the process. For now, we simply ask that you take no action. Your GGGolf environment remains fully operational, and you can continue using it as usual.

What does the transition process look like?

Over the coming months, each club will get a tailored timeline that includes:

- An introduction to Lightspeed Golf and its features
- Training webinars
- An assessment of your current GGGolf environment
- Migration planning
- Data preparation and migration
- Configuration of your new environment
- Team training
- Testing and validation before launch
- Support during and after the transition

What happens to my data?

The protection and integrity of your data are a priority throughout this transition.

The migration will be planned and carried out through a structured process to transfer the information required to ensure the continuity of your operations. Validation procedures will be conducted before your new environment goes live.

Details regarding the data that will be transferred, the migration steps and each party’s responsibilities will be communicated to you as part of your transition plan.

Will I lose support during the transition?

No. Your current GGGolf team remains in place and will work closely with the Lightspeed team throughout, so you have continuity of support at every step. Following the full transfer of the customer base, GGGolf's team will remain involved through April 2027 to support knowledge transfer.

Do I need to do anything right now?

No action is needed at this time. Your GGGolf environment remains fully operational, so continue using it as usual. You'll receive further communications with your specific timeline and next steps soon.

Who can I contact with questions?

François Roy will be in touch with details, along with introductions to your Lightspeed contacts as the transition progresses.
