When Paddle & Pickle opened its doors in Bromont, Quebec, in late 2024, founders Leslie Gamache and Dany Viens were new to retail but passionate about a sport that was rapidly gaining popularity: pickle ball.

Witnessing the momentum firsthand, they saw an opportunity to meet rising demand and create something unique for their community. To get set up quickly, they needed a system that could grow with them so they turned to other retail owners for advice. One POS came up time and time again: Lightspeed.

Looking at the data, they saw that Mondays were quieter, so they decided to close the store that day, freeing up time to focus on events and community growth. The company may be run by just two full-time founders, along with a few retired pickleball enthusiasts pitching in, but with Lightspeed, they have the tools of a much larger team.
