The PMS serves as a central hub for all guest activities within the space. Within the hotel, the staff that typically use the system are those working at the front desk, housekeeping and management.

The electronic point of sale system (ePOS) is used primarily for processing sales transactions. For a hotel, an ePOS is used in hotel restaurants and bars, onsite spas and gift shops. The ePOS facilitates the sales of goods and services, including but not limited to drinks, food, spa treatments and any retail items the hotel sells. Outside of this primary function, the point of sale tracks stock levels in the hotel bar, hotel restaurant and hotel gift shop.
