Nope. Lightspeed Tableside was designed to be used and worn comfortably all day long. It’s slim, fits in your back pocket and weighs less than a pound (13.9 oz).
Which iPhone models are compatible with Lightspeed Tableside?
Lightspeed Tableside is compatible with iPhone 12, 13 or 14. We offer a bundle price to save you money when you purchase the Lightspeed Tableside.
Can I use it in addition to my existing payment terminals?
Yes! Lightspeed Tableside is a fast and affordable way to expand your ability to take orders and payments and gain flexibility in service—without having to modify your operations or ditch your existing hardware.
Do I still collect data on orders and payments made with the Tableside?
Yes! Lightspeed Tableside is an extension of your POS. Everything communicates and works seamlessly together, so you’re still collecting valuable data and insights on every transaction.

What is instant order sending?
Instant order sending refers to the capability to send orders automatically to the kitchen. Servers don't have to take the order and then punch them in at a central POS.

What payment types can I take with Lightspeed Tableside?
Lightspeed Tableside is fully enabled for EMV (chip and pin), Magstripe (swipe) and contactless payments (tap cards, Google Pay, Apple Pay, etc.).
With Lightspeed Tableside, you can process all major credit cards including:

Are payments secure?
Lightspeed Tableside has built-in PCI Compliance and end-to-end data encryption to ensure secure transactions for your customers and business.
What happens if it gets lost or stolen?
Lightspeed Tableside has little value outside of a restaurant. The hardware and software are custom-built for restaurants and offer no practical use for a customer (or dissatisfied employee). And because it uses an iOS device, Apple’s built-in security features prevent anyone but you from accessing your data. Make sure you set a strong passcode, turn on Find My iPhone and consider turning on Stolen Device Protection in the unlikely event that a thief would know your passcode.
What about bill splitting?
Lightspeed Tableside offers all the flexibility of your POS, so you can split checks using different forms of payment, split the bill evenly or split checks by item. You can even divide items or split items by seat.
Is Lightspeed Tableside available everywhere in North America?
At this time, Lightspeed Tableside is only available to restaurants using Lightspeed Restaurant (K-Series) and Lightspeed Payments in the United States.

"Gross Transaction Volume" or "GTV" means the total dollar value of transactions processed through Lightspeed’s cloud-based software-as-a-service platform, excluding amounts processed through the NuORDER solution, in the period, net of refunds, inclusive of shipping and handling, duty and value-added taxes. GTV does not represent revenue earned by Lightspeed.
