Lightspeed Retail

We are ringing in the New Year with new features and bug fixes that we’ve been working on during the Holiday Season.

New Features

  • Image upload limit: All merchants can add up to 12 images per item and upload a total of 25,000 images or 100 GB of image data, whichever limit is reached first. Once you’ve reached 75% of either of these two limits, you will be notified in the image upload section of your item. The same applies to work order images (click here for more information on item images and here for work order images).
  • Changing item types: For optimal functioning of your account, Lightspeed Retail is now designed to allow certain item type transitions. Depending on your item’s current type, different rules apply and are described in greater detail in this article. We’ve also renamed the Default and Box of Items options from the Type drop-down list (under Inventory > New Item). Instead, they are now called Single and Box and all item types can be marked as Serialized (click here for more information on adding items).
    Bug Fixes
  • Items selling at default cost instead of zero cost: When items are received at zero cost, their default cost is used instead when added to a sale. This issue is now fixed.
  • Quote and receipt preview: When in the Retail Manager mode on an iPad, the quote and receipt preview does not load. This issue is now fixed.

Lightspeed Retail with eCom

For our omnichannel merchants, our New Year’s initiative is to provide an even more seamless integration of your online and in-store sales channels.

New Features

  • Cancelling orders in eCom: When you cancel an order that is set to Mark as paid in your eCom store, the following changes are now automatically pushed to your Retail account:
    • the associated sale is refunded (including taxes, shipping fees and payment fees).
    • the items are returned to your inventory.
    • (click here for more information)
  • Payment methods pushed to Retail: When an order in your eCom store uses the payment methods Pay by Invoice or Bank Transfer, the sales are now automatically pushed to your Retail account (click here for more information).
