What’s new in Lightspeed Restaurant with Loyalty?
Lightspeed Loyalty has now enabled SMS Short Codes in the US and UK!
What are short codes? Instead of SMS messages coming from a long-form phone number, they will be sent from a shorter, 5-digit number.
Here are some of the benefits users enjoy with SMS short codes:
- Messages can now be sent at a rate of 100 per second, rather than the 1 per second with long codes
- Short codes prevent SMS messages from being blocked by some cell phone carriers
- US customers will now receive communication from the phone number 21282
- UK customers will now receive communication from the phone number 60307
- If a customer cannot be reached by the short code, a long code number will be used
