Where are the beta Lightspeed Scanner app features available?

The Lightspeed Scanner beta app for Lightspeed Retail (X-Series) will be available in the USA, Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom.

How much do Tap to Pay transactions cost?

All transactions are subject to applicable credit card processing rates from Lightspeed Payments.

What are the device requirements?

Tap to Pay is only available on iPhone running iOS 17.4 or later. A device security PIN is required. A network connection is required to process payments (WiFi or mobile network).

What kinds of payments can I accept?

Tap to Pay is available to stores using Lightspeed Payments. You can accept all contactless debit and credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Wallet, and other NFC-based digital wallets on smartphones or smart watches.

Payments with Tap to Pay on iPhone are processed through Lightspeed Payments, which supports Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, and all debit cards.

Does Tap to Pay on iPhone work on iPad?

No, you can only use an iPhone to accept payments with Tap to Pay on iPhone.

Are Tap to Pay payments secure?

Yes, Tap to Pay on iPhone on the Lightspeed Scanner app is PCI compliant, and includes end-to-end encryption. Tap to Pay on iPhone uses the built-in features of iPhone to keep your data private and secure. Apple does not store card numbers on the device or on Apple servers when a payment is processed.

Can I use the beta app, even if I do not use Lightspeed Payments?

Yes. You can create a cart of products, and park the sale to be completed on an in-store register. Tap to Pay functionality is only available to stores using Lightspeed Payments.
